Standing Rock- Water for Life has gone to its forever home in Vancouver. It took a trip from Vancouver to Gabriola for a surprise birthday to pick up this piece that was first spotted in the Arts in Action Fair in Qualicum last Saturday. Its name has a very special meaning for its new owner. It was a privilege to witness and experience this event and loving couple.

A lovely weekend and beautiful venue. Some new connections, old connections, family connections, a few sore muscles but mostly a whole lot of fun.
As we were hanging the pieces for the Art in the Park event in Nanoose Bay this morning, we very much missed the presence of Dawn and the colourful energy she brought. Then I thought of her new owners and and smiled. Dawn definitely found a loving home a few weeks ago, she is with a sister piece and we couldn't be happier.
One of the most enjoyable parts of being an artist, is the people that we meet, the stories that they share and their genuine appreciation of art. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for allowing me to see my art through your eyes. Had a great weekend in this beautiful venue in Nanoose Bay. The favorite part was the people. The ones who come to see the art, the artists and sculptors.
I had a really nice group of students drop in this morning. Got to show them some of the diamond tools wo Loved sharing my art and the process with these budding artists at the studio today. |
